Tractorfest, Biddenden - Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August

In an age of high-speed everything, take some time out to enjoy a slower pace of life with the Biddenden Tractorfest and Country Fair.

The event this weekend will see some 100 tractors, vintage vehicles and cutting edge models on show over the two days.

But the heavyweight farm vehicles are only part of the story at the family-friendly show which attracted some 10,000 people last year.  There will also be morris dancing, alpacas, archery, a circus workshop, face painting, a fairground organ and fun fair, plus a range of animals and upbeat entertainment from the Headcorn Ukulele Group and other ukulele musicians.

There will also be a range of craft stalls and a display of beekeeping along with plenty of food to tempt visitors.

Biggin Hill Festival of Flight - Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August 2017

The fourth year of the show in its new guise is stretched to 2 days and celebrates the centenary of the airport.

Since it restarted in its present form in 2014, the Festival has been rather fraught with problems, ranging from woefully inadequate toilet and refreshment facilities in the first year, terrible parking control for the first two years and bad luck with the weather. The infrastructure problems had been sorted by year three and the date change may help on the weather front, so 2017 could be the year when it all comes right for Biggin Hill.

Medway Annual Canvass 2017 (Electoral Register)

The Annual Canvass of all properties across Medway is currently underway in order to compile the new Register of Electors 2018 on 1 December 2017. This is a statutory requirement and a response is required  from every household in Medway.

The canvass started on 1 July 2017, by emailing all electors (with email addresses against their registration), with the Household Enquiry information, for them to confirm or make changes to. This is a new initiative to save money and the environment by not having to print and post paper forms.

If you did not confirm or make the changes before midnight on Sunday 16 July,  a paper Household Enquiry form will be sent in the post, which you can respond to via the web, telephone or SMS. Full instructions are given on the form.

If you have any queries, please contact the Electoral Services team on 01634 332030.

The 2017 Families Continuous Attitude Survey (FAMCAS)

The 2017 Families Continuous Attitude Survey (FAMCAS) provides the opportunity for Army spouses/civil partners to express their views about a range of issues that affect their life as a Service family. The evidence provided by these views is a vital source of information that assists the Army in developing future personnel policy.

To support this process, it is important that the collective views of spouses/civil partners of Officers and Soldiers alike are communicated to the wider Army.
