Joining Forces - Savings and Loan Repayments Taken Straight From Pay

The Ministry of Defence is supporting three of the UK’s leading credit unions to join forces and make saving simple and loans more affordable to the Armed Forces and its Veterans. The money is deducted straight from your pay or pension so you don’t have to think about it.

Medway Council School Admissions Process - Have Your Say

Have your say and take part in Medway Council’s annual consultation on the school admissions processes.

The consultation runs until 5pm on Friday 17th November 2017.

The Ripple Pond

The Ripple Pond was set up by two mothers of seriously wounded servicemen who recognised that no similar service existed purely for adult family members, and who found strength and comfort by sharing and supporting each other through such a unique challenge.

What sets this organisation apart is that we empower each member to seek support when they need it most, in ways that are helpful for them – whether that is via group meetings, ‘buddies’ or via our secret Facebook page.

Many members are facing similar situations and The Ripple Pond gives them a safe space, both physically and mentally, to deal with them.

Whether your loved one is currently serving full time, as a reservist, a veteran, or whether they have been officially diagnosed or not we will show you a warm welcome and support you through your challenges.

Ex-Service Personnel Pensions Guide

There are now three Armed Forces pension schemes for members of the Regular Armed Forces and the one which applies to you depends upon your age, length of service and the decisions you have made during your career.

It is important that everyone should have a basic knowledge of their pensions position, the scheme or schemes that apply to them and what that means in terms of the timing and scale of pensions payments they will receive.

The Career Transition Partnership has produced a useful guide containing information on pension options for military personnel leaving regular service, as well as the Reserve Forces Pension Scheme (RFPS) for Reservists.

There is also information on Armed Forces Redundancy Schemes and the War Widow's or War Widower's pension.
